September 2026 Newsletter

Hello!

School has begun again! This September has been a month of settling into routine again and its begun to cool down. We've already had plenty of rainy nights where all you want to do is curl up with some hot chocolate and a good book. Soccer season is in full swing for Miriam and Hannah, with our weeknights full of practices and games. Next month we have two big birthdays.... Miriam's turning double digits on October 4th, and I'm turning 16 on the 28th! 

Miriam got her braces off! To celebrate, we bobbed for apples and made caramel apples. All of these things were Miriam-requested to commemorate this joyous day. She has to wear retainers at day and at night for the next six months, and may have to have another set of braces later on, but for now she is content eating carrots and popcorn.

Hannah has picked up the cello this year. She plays the half size so she can actually reach to the top! She is very excited, and was inspired to try a string instrument because Miriam has been playing the violin for about a year now. I have to say, even while she's learning, the cello is a beautiful sound to hear around the house while I'm doing my homework.

During September, I went to not one, but two car shows! I saw plenty of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and best of all, Porsches. They had a whole lane of different varieties, and even had a Porsche 918 Spyder. As the name suggests, there were only 918 ever made and sold. (Also note the blue Porsche Carrera GT) There were also many Porsche Targa 4s models, which are my dream car! (If you couldn't tell, I love cars :)

Miriam got to hang out with Nana for a couple of hours, and learned how to use a sewing machine! She made a sampler and fixed up a torn dress, which proves how useful that skill is. They also made us a delicious apple galette! Thank you to Nana for having her over. I also got to hang out with Nana for a sleepover, and we may have been shopping for a certain almost ten year old...
